Husband & wife design duo Robert and Cortney Novogratz have developed many unique properties in Manhattan, L.A. and beyond. I got to travel with them through these books by breaking down their process and learning some DIY tips along the way.
Beachside Bohemian
Half love-letter to Trancoso, Brazil and half how-to, Beachside Bohemian needed to cover transforming a ramshackle house into a sanctuary for family and friends. To make it all seem effortless, I used a combination of hand-drawn typefaces and carried an energetic acid green throughout. I even drew out the floorplan myself to ensure the Novogratz relaxed style was captured in every detail.
Design Fix
Never have I ever worked on a book with so many sidebars and lists! I approached these tips in a modular way so they could dance on the page but keep some consistency.
